Activities and Planned Schedule
The
workshop begins with the arrival after noon on Sunday, September 9th. Work
begins at 9AM Monday, September 10th. The workshop ends at noon on Saturday, September 15th. Room and Board includes
lodging and three meals per day during the workshop. Dinner is provided for
arrivals on Sunday. Dinner is not served on the last day of the workshop.
* Check In, Stone Selection, and Site Set-up
After noon on Sunday,
check in at the North Campus of the Hummingbird Music Camp. You may choose
your stone from the limestone and alabaster supplied, and you may purchase
stone from vendors who will have various marbles and alabaster available.
Help will be provided to place your stone in your work site.
* Daily schedules
9AM -
5PM, Monday through Friday, and 9AM to Noon on
Saturday.. Classes and demonstrations are held after breakfast and after
lunch. Attendance at these classes is optional except for the first day
orientation. Evening activities include a slide show of participants’ works
and socializing during which much good information is exchanged.
* Slide Show
Bring slides and digital images of your work to share at an evening showing.
And photos/portfolios for display during the week of the workshop.
* Art Exhibit
Our on-site gallery will display portfolios, sculpture and
other participant’s artwork in our activity room during the workshop. The
public will be invited to the exhibition Saturday ,
September 23. Bring your artwork for display and sale. (20% of sale proceeds
will benefit the Southwest Stone Carving Association Scholarship Fund.)
