Rollie Grandbois, Stone Sculptor

One of ten children raised in Belcourt, North Dakota, Rollie was raised in the Chippewa tradition. His father taught him the value of working hard.  His grandmother taught him the traditions of his people, while his mother inspired him with her artistic talents.  Rollie received his Associate of Fine Arts degree from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico after serving as the student body president. Rollie Grandbois works exclusively in stone from his studio in Jemez Springs, about an hour southwest of Santa Fe, New Mexico
